The Ford Maverick: Towing Power Meets Affordability

Ford Maverick Towing Power Meets Affordability

The Ford Maverick has taken the compact pickup truck market by storm. As the first compact pickup with a standard hybrid powertrain, this Ford truck has set a new standard for affordability and performance. Whether you need a daily commuter or something that can take on a multitude of Lawrimore trailers, the Ford Maverick is up for the job.

Read on to learn more about this powerful yet affordable pickup truck.

Complete Value

The Ford Maverick has a starting price of under $24,000 and a range of high-tech features, including LED headlights, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, 17-inch steelie rollers, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. It’s no wonder that demand has been relentless since its debut in 2021, causing Ford to close its order books multiple times.

Ready to Tow

But what about its towing capabilities? The Ford Maverick may not be a heavy-duty pickup that can handle all of the Lawrimore trailers in their lineup, but it’s no slouch in the towing department either. The Maverick can tow up to 2,000 pounds with its base hybrid engine and front-wheel drive, and up to 4,000 pounds with the optional 4K Tow Package and EcoBoost four-cylinder engine with all-wheel drive.

This impressive towing capacity is made possible by the 4K Tow Package, which includes wider tires, a trailer brake controller, a two-inch hitch receiver, a seven-pin wiring plug, an updated radiator, a transmission oil cooler, and a new cooling fan. The package costs $745 and is highly recommended for Maverick owners who plan have small or medium-sized Lawrimore trailers. With the 4K Tow Package, you can tow an Airstream Basecamp (2,600 pounds) or two ATVs on a flatbed trailer (about 4,000 pounds).

Ford Has Other Options Too

If you need to tow even heavier loads, like a gooseneck or dump trailer, the Ford F-150 might be a better option, with a maximum towing limit of 14,000 pounds. Not everyone needs that kind of towing power, and not everyone wants to pay that kind of price. if you’re looking for a compact pickup with great towing capabilities and an affordable sticker price, the Ford Maverick is an excellent choice. The Maverick easily outperforms the competition, like the Hyundai Santa Cruz. While Hyundai’s pickup truck offers plenty of style, it comes at a higher price and with lower towing specs. If you just want a truck that looks cool on the road, the Santa Cruz is a great option. If, however, you want something with style and great towing capabilities, Ford has what you need.

If you’re in the market for a compact pickup with impressive towing power and affordability, the Ford Maverick order books re-open in August 2023. Act fast, because those order books won’t stay open long.
