Ohio True Crime Restaurant Serves Serial Killers’ Last Meals and Opens 2nd Location

True crime obsession has officially reached a new level. A restaurant in Ohio lets visitors eat the exact final meals requested by some of America’s most notorious killers before their executions. Now, due to overwhelming popularity, The Last Meal is expanding to a second location in Michigan.

  • The Last Meal opened last year in Galion, Ohio, and has become so popular that it now requires reservations.
  • Menu items include final dishes from killers like John Wayne Gacy (chicken wings, strawberries, fried shrimp and French fries), Ted Bundy (parmesan steak loaded steak fries), and Aileen Wuornos (cup of black coffee and a cheeseburger).
  • The new Michigan location is expected to open in April.

What’s on the Menu at The Last Meal?

The Last Meal claims on Facebook to provide “a dining experience that focuses on serving the last meal requests of infamous names” in true crime history. Orders are served on a “prison-style” platter.

Visitors can try Ted Bundy’s last meal, which consisted of an 8oz sirloin and eggs, a hash brown, toast with butter and jelly, and milk, juice, and coffee to drink. Those looking for something lighter can order serial killer Aileen Wuornos’s final request of a smash burger with cheese, onions, and a coffee. Have a sweet tooth? Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh ordered two pints of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

The Ohio eatery’s menu also boasts signature cocktails, including the Helter Seltzer, which was inspired by Charles Manson and his followers’ crimes. There’s even the Pogo Punch, inspired by Gacy, who spent years working children’s parties as a clown-for-hire named Pogo.

Online, the restaurant proudly promotes itself as “the only restaurant in the entire world where you can eat a meal and then hold a human skull.”

Inside the Ohio Museum of Horror

The Last Meal operates inside the Ohio Museum of Horror, a true crime themed restaurant and bar in Galion. The building, constructed in the year 1900, has a “haunted history,” according to owner Nate Thompson.

The museum itself is open year-round and features real human skulls, serial killer objects, haunted items, Ouija boards, human remains, horror movie memorabilia, and more. Thompson plans on offering ghost tours and other events.

“It definitely fits the vibe,” Thompson said. “When you go to look at a place and they don’t even know what you’re doing yet and one of the first things they tell you is ‘Hey, this is haunted,’ you know you’re in the right place.”

Tickets for the museum are priced at $10 for those aged 13 and older, $6 for children, and free for those who are 5 years old and under.

Controversy and Community Response

Thompson announced the new museum and restaurant on Facebook, drawing thousands of comments expressing excitement, along with some criticizing the eatery for glorifying serial killers and disrespecting murder victims.

While Thompson said he understands and respects these opinions, he believes the establishment will help spread awareness about crime. He also said a portion of the profits from the restaurant will support various victims’ support foundations.

“It gets you very immersed into the true crime, but also in the same aspect it really creates awareness to where you’re going to leave this place and you’re going to know what happened to these people and you’re going to be a little bit more cautious,” Thompson said.

Michigan Expansion on the Way

The Last Meal is expanding to Michigan after it gained popularity at its original spot in Ohio. “I always thought it would be cool to have a restaurant where you could eat the same last meals as others,” said co-owner Nate Thompson.

“I have always had a passion for cooking and serving food, and I figured if I could make it a themed attraction similar to the Museum of Horror, it would appeal to visitors in a similar, yet different way,” Thompson added.

Back in 2022, Thompson opened the Michigan Museum of Horror in the city of Monroe, Michigan. Thompson said that the menu at the second restaurant will be similar to the one offered at the original Ohio location, with some items exclusive to the Michigan eatery.

Thompson said he plans to open more horror-themed museums across the country.

Would You Dare to Dine?

For true crime enthusiasts who’ve binged every Netflix documentary and listened to countless murder podcasts, The Last Meal offers something you can’t get anywhere else. Each order tells a story and forces you to face the reality that someone once ate these meals in their final moments. Whether you find the concept fascinating or disturbing, one thing’s certain: this restaurant has tapped into America’s appetite for all things true crime. For horror lovers and true crime fans, it’s an experience that lingers long after the last bite.
