Toyota Sienna vs Honda Odyssey

Toyota Sienna vs Honda Odyssey

Two of the most popular minivans on the market right now are the Toyota Sienna and the Honda Odyssey. With lots of space and versatility, there is a reason these two vehicles are as popular as they are, but each one has its own unique attributes. So, which one is the better minivan, and if you are looking into buying one, which one should you buy?

Attributes and Features

As is the case with most car models across the board, these two minivans come with various trims, and each trim level has its own set of special features and unique attributes. Depending on what trim you are looking at, we could be looking at a serious uptick in quality, as well as price.

The Honda Odyssey

The 2018 Honda Odyssey has many things to consider. For starters, it has front-wheel driving, a V6 engine, and lots of space for kids or cargo. Depending on the trim level, you can seat up to 7 or 8 people in the car at once.

On the topic of trims, The Honda Odyssey comes with 6 options to consider, which include the LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L (with navigation and rear entertainment system), Touring, and Elite. The LX is the Odyssey’s base model, so it comes as no surprise that it comes with the most basic necessities. The LX also only seats 7, while the rest of the trims seat 8. As the trims increase in quality, like in the EX and EX-L, the comfortability increases. With the Odyssey’s most premium trims, in the Touring and the Elite, quality and comfort are encompassed to the highest degree.

Depending on what you are looking for, or the needs of your family, it would be a smart choice to look closely at each trim to see which fits best.

The Toyota Sienna

The other minivan in discussion is the Toyota Sienna. These minivans are still in production, but because there are not a lot of brand-new ones on the market right now, we will be taking a look at the used versions. Don’t worry, though. Buying used is the new buying new, and a used Toyota Sienna is just as good as a used Honda Odyssey.

Like the Odyssey, the Toyota Sienna offers up to 7 or 8 people at once, depending on which trim level you decide to go with. With an updated engine, the Sienna is quicker than ever. Just because you drive a minivan doesn’t mean you have to drive slowly!

The Toyota Sienna trims include the L, the LE, the SE, the XLE, and the Limited. You guessed it, the Sienna L is the basic trim model and only comes with the most standard features. The LE comes with power-sliding doors and roof rails. The SE looks a bit sportier and even comes with a sport suspension that helps with handling. The XLE and Limited come with the best interior and technology features, making traveling an enjoyable experience. Like the Odyssey, the Sienna uses a V6 engine and has all-wheel drive for all trims except the L.

So, which one is better for your next road trip? The Honda might come with more trim options and versatility, but the Toyota has it beat in the reliability department. The choice is yours.
