Spring Sports to Watch After the Super Bowl

Spring Sports to Watch After the Super Bowl

The sports landscape is dominated by the NFL and NCAA Football from August until we finally reach the Super Bowl at the start of February.

Now that the Super Bowl has been played, you might be looking for the next sports fix to help you enjoy your time and engage in the entertainment you love. If you’re ready to get behind another team and enjoy a sport that isn’t football, here are some great ideas.

The NBA is Heating Up

Every year, not long after the Super Bowl, the NBA All-Star Weekend takes place, and once behind us, the play on the court is better as we move toward the playoffs. With more than half the teams in the NBA making the playoffs every year and a system that takes us deep into June, you could follow your favorite NBA team for the next four months.

If you love high-flying action, athletic prowess, and sports that showcase some of the best players in the world, the NBA has what you’re looking for. Several great games are offered every week to keep you engaged and make it easy for you to follow along with the players and the teams you enjoy.

Choose the MLB and Enjoy One of the Classic Sports

For many years, Major League Baseball was known as the “National Pastime” and while it’s still referred to as this, it can be hard to see it as the game we watch more than any other. With that said, you could immerse yourself in the baseball team you grew up following now that the Super Bowl is behind us. Spring training will begin soon and you’ll be able to enjoy some of the fun.

The MLB can take you from the start of April until deep into the NFL season next year, to give you something to watch between football games.

Hockey Might be the Right Game for You

Many say that attending an NHL game is more fun than watching it, but it can be a lot of fun to see these games on streaming services and television as well. The NHL season mirrors the NBA season, which means it’s heating up and you can follow along and enjoy this sport for the next four months without any interruption. Check out a game and see if it’s something you can begin to enjoy.

Lacrosse is one of the Biggest Sports Right Now

There are two versions of lacrosse that you can watch and enjoy. The National Lacrosse League (NLL) which is an indoor game is played much the same way as hockey and showcases the skills of players who you might not know. The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) will begin to play later in the spring and offers an outdoor game on grass fields to give you some of the greatest players this game has right now.

If you’re looking for one of the oldest and fastest-growing sports in the country, lacrosse is what you’re after. This sport dates back before the start of the country and is founded in Native American culture.

NASCAR Is Back

February is always a big month for NASCAR as the Daytona 500 starts the season to give us the greatest race in the schedule and a wonderful way to get a long season started. The only drawback to this sport is that races will run into November and are typically held at the same time as the NFL games. Even so, you can easily follow your favorite racers and teams throughout the spring and summer and then find a way to watch both NASCAR and football at the same time.

The Kentucky Derby is Right Around the Corner

Horse racing is one of the most popular sports throughout the spring and summer and it gives you another great outlet for the fun and athleticism you’re looking for. In this case, the athletes are the horses as they race around the different tracks with jockeys on their backs on the way to the finish line.

The Best Golf is in the Spring

For four months of the year, beginning in April, we see one of the Golf Majors to offer us the competition of the players that we know and admire. You can easily get behind your favorite golfer much the same that you would get behind your favorite NASCAR driver. Watch as these golfers reach scores that all of us wish we could on courses that are pristine and perfect.

You’ll have the option of several different sports to keep your attention with the NFL done until the fall. Find your outlet and enjoy the various options offered to take you into the NFL season.
